Audubon to be Long Term Managers of Panther Island
Story:
Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary has signed an agreement that will expand its boundaries by thousands of acres by 2010. The Panther Island Mitigation Bank has already transferred 1,884 acres to the sanctuary, which will take over long-term management that is required in the mitigation bank’s permit. The rest of the 2,775 mitigation bank would become part of the 11,000-acre sanctuary in two more transfers scheduled fro 2007 and 2009.
