Water Resources Development Act approved by Senate.
Detail:
The Senate, ignoring a veto threat from the White House, authorized $23 billion in water projects, including work to restore the hurricane-ravaged Louisiana coast and Florida's Everglades. The Water Resources Bill was approved by the House earlier this by a vote of 81-12. The Senate vote was approved by a veto-proof margin and the bill's supporters said they are optimistic they will be able to get the two-thirds majority vote to override a veto by the President.
